Taiwan

We got back from Taiwan yesterday and are still adjusting. . .after almost 22 hours of travel we were pretty exhausted. We tried valiantly to stay awake after we arrived at 6 am in the morning - but fell asleep at about 4:30. I woke up at 1 am. My body still isn't sure what time it is. :)

The trip was worth it, though. Taiwan is a beautiful country, but what really made it a wonderful place to visit were the Taiwanese people. They put up with our few mispronounced words in Chinese, and when that failed, worked with our gestures. And whenever we were lost or needed help, there was always someone willing.

As you can probably guess, I took way too many pictures. Be sure to checkout the videos.

This one is a video of the doorbell on one of our hotel rooms. And this is a video of the cross walk signs in Taipei. The little man walks calmly for the first twenty seconds, speeds up at ten seconds then begin to runs frantically at five seconds.

p.s. Thanks to these two sites for giving me the starting points for getting captions working through Apache Gallery.
