Smarter than a freshmen

Taking a class this semester has given me the opportunity to think about the ways in which I am smarter than when I was a freshmen.

Smarter: I no longer stress over tests and assignments - it's good to try to do your best, but once you've done that the grade you get is the grade you get. And while grades are important, it's not the end of the world if you get a bad one.

Just as dumb: Grad school and three jobs later, I am still struck by the fear of god when the instructor says something like "Okay, now find a group of 2 or 3 people around you. . ."

(This post reminds me of "Are you smarter than a fifth grader?", which while I guess might be amusing is just a really big gimmick. If they're going to ask an adult about geography, they should ask the fifth grader about how to file a claim on your car insurance. While they're at it, how about some questions on how to save for retirement?)
